Mid America Orthopaedic Homepage

The Mid-America Orthopaedic Association supports Classic Speakers, a Presidential Guest Speaker, Multipurpose Resident Grants, a Traveling Fellowship, Physician in Training Awards, and Education Grants  on an annual basis.  These awards have been funded in large part by the Education and Research Fund of MAOA.  In order for these activities to continue, we would like to ask for your support, as corporate contributions have not been enough to fully fund these expenses.

Donations to the MAOA Education and Research Fund can be done in the following ways:

MAOA Education and Research Fund (managed by MAOA):

  1. Direct donations (any amount) to the MAOA Education and Research Fund.  Click here for a MAOA pledge form.

  2. Designate a portion of your contribution to OREF to the MAOA Education and Research Fund.  For gifts of $1,000 or more (Order of Merit), $500 (or more if the total gift exceeds $1,000) can be designated to MAOA.  In so doing, you will be receiving recognition for your donation by both OREF and MAOA.  Click here to designate a portion of your contribution to OREF to the MAOA Education and Research Fund.

MAOA Endowment Fund (managed by OREF):

While the principle will remain with OREF in the MAOA Endowment Fund, 5% of the earned interest will be sent to the MAOA Education and Research Fund each year to help with education and research programs sponsored by MAOA.

  1. Direct donations (any amount) can be given to OREF and designated to the MAOA Endowment Fund.

  2. If you become a member of the OREF Shands Circle, all or part of your Shands Circle commitment can be directed to the MAOA Endowment Fund.  You can become a Shands member by a minimum cash (or stock) gift commitment of $20,000, which can be paid over five years, or by a minimum deferred gift of $50,000.  There are several ways to make a deferred gift—bequest, charitable remainder trust, charitable lead trust, chartable gift annuity, or life insurance policy.

Please consider donating an amount, which is comfortable for you, recognizing that each member’s ability to contribute, and financial obligations vary.  The IRS has approved our application for exemption for this Fund under code section 501(c)(3), and contributions, therefore, are tax deductible.

We would be grateful for your support.
