The Thursday-Saturday portion of the MAOA 2019 Annual Meeting will include instructional courses, plenary sessions, symposia, ask the expert session, breakout subspecialty oriented sessions, and posters.

Dr. Carlos HIguera, 2018 Program Chair, and the 2018-2019 Program Committee have put together an outstanding program for the 2019 Annual Meeting.  Some highlights:

  • Ask the Expert and Case Discussions on Thursday, April 11, 2019, during the Plenary Session.  Two topics will be offered: "How Do I Deal with Hip Instability?" and "From Native Septic Joints to Chronic PJI"
  • Symposia during each Plenary Session.  The topics (State Regulations and Opioids - How Can We Still Manage Pain?; Emerging Trends in Health Care; and How to Transition to Elective Ambulatory Arthroplasty - Words of Experience) will be presented by a 2-3 person panel who are experts in that particular field.
  • Spotlight lectures scheduled during the breakout sessions.  An expert in that particular breakout session will present a short talk, in addition to  the regularly-scheduled talks.
  • Resident Quiz Bowl--all residents are invited to form a two-person team for this lively competition on Saturday morning.
