Why Did This Joint Replacement Not Work Out as it Should Have?  Avoiding Problems and Addressing Early Failures in Primary THA/TKA


MAOA 2021 Annual Meeting (Thursday – Saturday) will include instructional courses, plenary sessions, symposia, ask the expert session, breakout subspecialty-oriented sessions, and posters. 

Dr. Nicolas Noiseux, 2021 Program Chair, along with the 2020-2021 Program Committee have put together an outstanding program for the 2021 Annual Meeting.

Some highlights:

  • Ask the Expert and Case Discussions on Thursday, September 1, 2021, during the Plenary Session. Two topics will be offered: "Spine" and "Foot and Ankle".
  • Symposium during each Plenary Session. The topics (“Prosthetic Femur Fractures”, “The Athlete's Shoulder in 2021”, and “Challenging Proximal Femur Fractures”) will be presented by a 2-3 person panel who are experts in that particular field.
  • Spotlight lectures scheduled during the breakout sessions. An expert in that particular breakout session will present a short talk, in addition to the regularly scheduled talks.
  • Resident Quiz Bowl - All residents are invited to form a two-person team for this lively competition on Saturday morning.

CME ACCREDITATION
This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint providership of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and Mid-America Orthopaedic Association (MAOA).

The American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons is accredited by them ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians. The American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons designates this MAOA 38th Annual Meeting, September 29 – October 2, 2021, for a maximum of 26* AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

2:00 PM Amelia Island Cruise
  This afternoon tour is a nice blend of history and nature, including a trip up Beach
  Creek with a beautiful view of the salt marshes and bird life of Cumberland Island. It
  offers a close-up view of the ruins of the Dungeness Mansion and takes you literally
  inside Cumberland Island.   

  Approximately 2½ hours – transportation to marina leaves @ 2:00 PM for 2:30 PM
  cruise

  Cost: $80/person
(includes transportation to marina)
