Instructional Course Announcement Members of the Mid-America Orthopaedic Association are invited to submit proposals for the Instructional Course section of the 2024 Annual Meeting (April 10-14, Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort, Bonita Springs, Florida). Each year four Instructional Course sessions are offered. The courses typically focus on current issues and/or techniques of an orthopedic subspecialty that would hold interest for a relatively broad portion of the membership/attendees. The 2023 courses were: I. Primary Total Hip and Knee Arthroplasty in 2023: What's In and What's Out?
II. Meniscus Repairs to Replacement: Key Trends, Tips, and Techniques
III. Workplace Violence in the Health Care Setting: What We Can Do to Protect Our Patients and Ourselves
IV. Nuances and Current Controversies in Ankle Fracture Fixation
Instructional Courses last 60 minutes (6:30-7:30 AM on either Thursday or Friday of the meeting week) and should include a period for questions or discussion. The course faculty typically includes a moderator and two or three faculty (their membership in MAOA is preferred and, unfortunately, no compensation or honoraria can be offered by the organization). If interested, please CLICK HERE to complete the application. The deadline for Instructional Course submissions for the 2024 program is August 1, 2023. |
