History of Mid-America Orthopaedic Association

The inception of the Mid-America Orthopaedic Association was initiated on April 7, 1982, when 22 individuals representing 19 mid-America states met in the basement of the Sheraton Hotel at the Chicago O'Hare Airport.  These 22 individuals completed their deliberations regarding the organization of a new orthopedic association and signed a document stating "The Founding Members whose names appear below have today committed themselves to forming the Mid-America Orthopedic Society for purpose of extending the Art and Science of Orthopedic Surgery."
