Multipurpose Resident Grants
Application deadline: July 1, 2021

Three multipurpose resident grants of $6,000 each are given annually.
The orthopedic residents must be in their second, third, fourth, fifth, or sixth postgraduate years (not a research or fellowship year) and located in the 20-state Mid-America region.
The grant may be used to fund a “visiting residency”, an educational trip abroad, a research project, or any other educational activity which the resident might wish to propose. Residents receiving awards must use the funds within the academic year in which it is awarded and will be invited to the first Mid-America Orthopaedic Association annual meeting after the project is completed and will be asked to describe his/her experience with a brief illustrated presentation.

The application deadline for the 2022 multipurpose resident grant submission is
 July 1, 2021.

You will need the following items available prior to completing the online application:

  1. A letter of support from your Department Chair to also include the following:
       a. is there adequate/protected time for this project/travel
       b. is the faculty sponsor a good choice
       c. is the institution committed to seeing the project through to completion
  2. A letter of support from one other faculty member in your program
  3. Your curriculum vitae
  4. If requesting funding for a research project, a more detailed proposal describing the project is required.
  5. Budget (no indirect costs should be included in the budget)
